Dr Angus Donald BVSc (Hons) (U Syd)

Angus grew up in Pymble, attending Knox Grammar, and then the University of Sydney. He graduated with 1st class honours in 2010 and worked in small animal practice in Newcastle for three years. The move back to Sydney comes after Angus married his wife Liisa (also a veterinarian!) last year, and allows them both to be closer to family and friends.

Angus enjoys all areas of veterinary practice and seems to have a special connection with all his feline patients. He plans to undertake advanced training and work towards membership exams in the near future. In his spare time, Angus enjoys playing golf and tennis, skiing and snowboarding, and catching up with friends. Angus and his wife share their home with two beautiful Burmese cats, Mocha and Mimi, and a black mini-lop rabbit called Nightmare who certainly lives up to his name!


Dr Noni Marceau



Dr. Noni Marceau BVSc (Hons) (U Qld), Adv. Dip. Horse Management (U Syd)

Noni grew up in Lane Cove on the lower north shore. Following completion of an Advanced Diploma in Horse Mangement in Orange, she moved to Brisbane to complete her Bachelor of Veterinary Science. During this time she worked as a veterinary nurse in an urban veterinary practice.

Noni worked in Brisbane for 2 years following graduation in 2003, then moved to the UK for work and travel. She settled in London where she met her partner, and worked in a family owned and operated veterinary practice for almost 6 years, including a sojourn of maternity leave in 2013 after the birth of their daughter.

In 2015 Noni and her young family returned to Australia for the sunny outdoor lifestyle and to be closer to family. Currently Noni is studying for her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (UK) in small animal medicine. She has an interest in medicine, imaging and dentistry.


Dr Pip Wines



Dr Philippa 'Pip' Wines BVSc (U Syd)

Pip grew up in Killara. After graduating in 1997 she worked in Sydney for 4 years then London for 4 years, taking the opportunity to travel in Italy, Croatia and Greece. Pip has undertaken further training in surgery. She particularly loves seeing young children being involved in the care of their pets. Pip and her husband have four young children, a Border Collie, Sady, and a cat, Stopit. Pip is also a keen runner and swimmer. Pip recently braved the sharks of Sydney Harbour to participate in a prominent ocean swim for charity.

Pip has returned to work on a limited casual basis, as she continues to care for her young family.




Dr James Thompson



Dr James Thompson BVSc (U Syd), MANZCVS (Surgery), MVS (Murdoch)

James grew up in Pymble attending Pymble Public School, then Knox Grammar. After graduation from the University of Sydney in 1992, he worked in country practice in England, Wales, and Scone (NSW) then at North Shore Veterinary Hospital. He has completed distance education courses in Ophthalmology and Emergency Medicine and attended orthopedic training conferences in Davos, Switzerland and Sydney. James completed his Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery in 2004 and has assisted teaching surgery to vet students at the University of Sydney. In June 2012 the Centre for Veterinary Education of the University of Sydney published Dr Thompson's article discussing the successful surgical treatment of abdominal masses in four dogs, awarding the paper a major prize. James completed his Masters in Veterinary Clinical Studies from Murdoch University in June 2014. He has also volunteered on animal welfare programs in Indonesia and Africa, and served on the Executive Committee of the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association.

James and his wife, also a vet, are proud parents of 2 little boys. James is on parental leave in 2017, working part time, primarily managing the transition to the new hospital, with limited availability for consultations by appointment. He looks forward to returning to clinical vet work in 2018.





Dr. Penelope Kingston BVSc (U Syd)

Dr Penelope Kingston grew up in country NSW and graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006, initially working in equine practice in Victoria. She is the most motivated, enthusiastic and hard working vet you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Penelope has a particular interest in critical care and medicine. She has completed advanced study in Internal Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care through the University of Sydney. Penelope has 1 child, a little boy, 2 dogs (Hugo, a Bernese, and a mixed breed named Hunter) 2 Burmese cats, Jemima and Lambert, a horse named Kip, and a husband too!


Dr Gretta Howard



Dr Gretta Howard BVSc (Hons) (Uni.Syd.) MVS (Sm.Anim.Pract.) MANZCVS (Sm.Anim.Med.) MRCVS

18+ Years Experience

Dr Gretta Howard graduated from the University of Sydney in 1999. She worked in mixed veterinary practice in country NSW for 18 months and then worked in private practice in Sydney from 2001-2004. During this time, she completed a four year part-time Masters Degree in Veterinary Studies through Murdoch University. Gretta then worked as a locum vet throughout the English countryside. On the way home to Australia, she worked in Sikkim, India with Vets Beyond Borders as a volunteer. In 2006, she was successful in gaining Membership into the Small Animal Medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Gretta regularly contributes monthly articles to local newspapers and has written for The Veterinarian magazine. Gretta also works part-time as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at North Shore Vet Specialist Centre and Northside Veterinary Emergency Service (NEVS).

Gretta is thrilled to have joined the team part-time at Turramurra Vet alongside her husband Dr James Thompson. Their two young boys Marcus and Hamish attend a local child care centre two days a week, enabling Gretta to continue her love for veterinary medicine and surgery.

Head Vet Nurse


Rebecca has had a love of animals from a very early stage. She has had pet rabbits, cats, dogs and fish and helps take care of her friendís cats and horses on a regular basis. She also takes care of her sisterís animals (dogs, cats, birds, fish and lizards) when needed. Rebecca is passionate about animal welfare and holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.






Senior Vet Nurse


Emily has been an animal lover her whole life. She is a real dog person, and is very experienced in large dog handling. Emily completed a Post Graduate course in Behaviour and her Certificate IV Vet Nursing. She has over 13 years veterinary nursing experience, including emergency nursing and has also studied wound management, surgical nursing, wildlife and anaesthetics. Emily and her husband are proud parents of a lively little boy.






Vet Nurse


Beth grew up in Dubbo NSW, she also spent a lot of time at her grandparents farm in Tamworth with cattle, horses, chickens and dogs, She enjoys horse riding and camping and holds her Veterinary Nursing Certificate IV. Her dogs name is Sampson. He is a little Pomeranian – with a big heart. Beth also loves large dogs (as pictured) and has a beautiful horse named Smoothie. Beth is responsible for community relations at Turramurra Vet.






Vet Nurse


Cassie has always had a passion for animals and from a young age has always wanted to pursue a career in the animal industry. When she's not working in the clinic, Cassie keeps busy with her three dogs Zoe a Ridgeback cross, Marley a Weimaraner and Bruno a German Short-haired Pointer and her three cats Cleopatra, Scrappy and Spondo. Cassie has recently completed her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.






Senior Vet Nurse and Puppy Prep


Katie has been working with animals for the past 11 years. A graduate of a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Katie is responsible for our puppy training as well as the training of adolescent dogs (at St Ives Showground). Katie is highly knowledgeable about canine behavioural issues. Among Katie's hobbies are skydiving, camping and travel. Katie has one husband, four rabbits, a cat and a yabby.

Katie is currently on maternity leave, after the birth of her second child. She and her husband are now parents of a little girl and a new baby boy.
